WHAT A SAD, LITTLE PAGE FOR MERLOT.
It seems the movie, Sideways, made Merlot the bastard of the varietals.
No one seems to make much of it here, mainly because it lost its popularity.
But Rafanelli didn't care. And they shouldn't.
Try their merlot and you'll wonder why you don't drink more of it...
Fun Fact: The irony about the character's (in Sideways) hatred of merlot is that his favorite wine of all time is the 1961 Cheval Blanc.
This Bordeaux is a blend of mostly merlot and cab franc.

This humble, rustic, family-owned winery has been making premium zin, cab and merlot for four generations. The merlot is only available until about August. And you can't buy it anywhere but at the winery or from a restaurant wine list.
This place is AWESOME. Quintessential Dry Creek Valley wine. It's an absolute must. ~appointment only
